Abstract | The authors investigated the utility and efficacy of using concepts maps as a research tool to assess young children. Pre- and post- concept maps have been used as an assessment and evaluation tool with teachers and with older students, typically children who can read and write; this article summarizes an investigation into the utility of using this methodology with children in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. This exploratory study indicated that this methodology is cost-effective, efficient, and developmentally appropriate for use with young children. (As Provided). |
